CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT
Social entrepreneurship results in qualifying socio-economic development as required by Code 700 of the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice. Code 700 states that: “The most critical aspect of the socio-economic development (SED) element is that SED initiatives should result in the sustainable economic participation by its intended beneficiaries and discourage perpetual dependence on hand-outs”. The self-sustainability of Code 700 beneficiaries comes from them providing services for the State through Public Private Partnerships (PPPs).
PPPs are financed with State funds and recipients must prove on demand that they comply with the Public Finance Management Amendment (PFMA) Act. This means that the implementation and management of the PPP must be standardised throughout supply chains so that accurate reporting and auditing can take place. We develop and implement the regulatory framework that governs PPPs so that Code 700 beneficiaries can be audited to verify their compliance with the PFMA Act. |
